Thank you for articulating so beautifully those aspects of Shakespeare's
work which touch us all.  It's nice to know someone shares a common

After re-reading the Guardian article I sent in, I have begun to wonder
if there is not more to the issue in Gauteng than was represented.
Perhaps one of our members based in South Africa (David Schalkwyk?)
might be able to provide us with more background, and possibly an
update.

I would just point out that the Taliban destroys 1500 year old statues
under precisely the same terribly misguided criteria (I could not bring
myself to use the word thought.)
