Subject: Accommodations near the Globe Theater
Comment: SHK 12.1058 Accommodations near the Globe Theater
I wouldn't try to book B and B near The Globe!! It's not exactly a
'residential area', but long dark walks along the river embankment etc
at night! Better might be to book cheapish on the north side of the
Thames. Underground gets close - Waterloo, then walk. Southwark
Try the 'Thistle' hotel chain in UK - they have places all over London.
Or 'Trusthouse' or 'Posthouse'. The University of London sometimes has
addresses for visiting scholars in London off-peak. Very much depends on
how much you want to pay, and how long you want to stay. There are
YWCA's in London and Youth Hostels too, both can be found on the
Internet. Most major UK airlines operating in and out of Heathrow or
Gatwick will help with accommodation in advance, and much more likely to
give you somewhere reputable, since their reputation depends on their
recommendations too. London is NOT cheap, I fear.
But maybe this all seems like teaching granny to suck eggs?
