Subject: American Theatre

SHAKSPEReans will want to know that the May/June issue of *American
Theatre* magazine has several articles related to da Bard. Here is an
abbreviated TOC.

Year of the Hamlets: Three European directors plumb the tragedy's
limitless possibilities by Matt Wolf

"Doomed to Walk the Night": Theatre de la Jeune Lune conjures an
elemental Hamlet by Maggi Kramm

A Certain Path: An exclusive conversation with Peter Brook by Margaret
Croyden

Who Was That Man?: Why Amy Freed can't stop thinking about Shakespeare
by Amy Freed

West is West: Libby Appel stakes her claim at the Oregon Shakespeare
Festival by Lenora Inez Brown

A Seismic Cymbeline by Bartlett Sher

There are also reviews of six books on Shakespeare and Shakespeariana.

Not strictly Shakespearean is an extensive world wide listing of summer
theatre festivals.

If they don't sell *American Theatre* at your local bookstore, you'd
better move. Well, OK, I guess you can contact them here:

All the best,
