Subject: More on Shakespeare Pornography
This just in.
The PG-13 rated Internet t.v. sit com "The Money Shot--the Series" (at
http://www.moneyshot-theseries.com./), a roman a clef series about the
industry and AVN--that's Adult Video News-- (Frank Rich talks about AVN
and the series in his lengthy New York Times Sunday Magazine article at
http://www.nytimes.com/library/magazine/home/), there a tiny subplot
wherein one of the characters is blackmailed into pushing an
embarrassingly bad porn version of Taming of the Shrew into the Best
Film slot (which, according to someone who works on the series, "is a
thinly-veiled attack at AVN's nominating Adam & Eve's godawful Midsummer
Night's Cream for Best Film -- glad my name wasn't on those
nominations"). Note: In an earlier article on the porn industry, a NY
Times reporter said that AVN is to the porn industry what Variety is to
the Hollywood film industry.
