Just a quick note. This production by Bartlett Sher, artistic director
of Seattle's Intiman Theatre, was staged at the by Intiman in Seattle
last spring. I visited Seattle last year and missed the production by
just a couple of days. Friends who saw it had very mixed reactions: not
only does it employ cowboy and C/W motifs, but also elements of Kabuki,
martial arts movies and Indonesian dance (reportedly -- again, I haven't
seen it, yet). This kind of merry mix of styles and cultural elements
doesn't go down easily with everyone. I'm grateful for Graham's post
and responses, and I'm curious about whether any other list members saw
the production in Seattle or Stratford or elsewhere, and what they might
have thought of it.

Another question, just out of curiosity. It's interesting that the
production is being done by Theatre for a New Audience, which, as Graham
notes, is a NYC Off-Broadway company. I don't *think* TFANA did Sher's
*Cymbeline* in New York. At least my cursory web search doesn't show
any evidence that they did. Did this production have an off-Broadway
