Subject: Conference Announcement: Shakespeare and the History Play (UK)
Renaissance Histories: Shakespeare and the History Play, 19th-20th July
2002, University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK.
Keynote speakers to include Barbara Hodgdon, Peter Holland, Tom Healy
and Carol Chillington Rutter.
Papers are invited on any aspect of the history plays of Shakespeare and
his contemporaries, including those works which are not usually
considered as history plays (such as Tamberlaine, Macbeth etc.) There
will be a particular stress on genre, nationhood and performance.
Proposals (250 words) should be submitted by 15th January 2002
(preferably electronically).
