I confess to having visited New Haven only once to see a friend -- and
we didn't watch television. But I find it hard to imagine that you could
only get one "a fuzzy ABC local affiliate" unless you have no antenna on
your set at all. Or perhaps no decent one. You could probably get
something at Radio Shack or some such for $20. You ought to be able to
get NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, and PBS at least.
(We rarely watch the major networks except for sports (and then only
myself), but have found that the local affiliates cover the weather,
including hurricanes and (later today) possible tornadoes, where the
cable networks obviously won't bother. The local affiliates are useful
for that, if nothing else.)
