Dear SHAKSPEReans:

RE: Upcoming conference "New Directions in Biographies of Shakespeare,
Marlowe and Jonson" (22-23 September)

Due to overwhelming popularity, King Edward VI School (where the
conference will take place) kindly agreed to accommodate more delegates.
I have offered applicants on the waiting list, and there are 11 places
left (as of Friday 7 September).

When I was asked or considered it necessary, I reserved places for UK
applicants for 3 days and those from abroad for 10 days. However, I no
longer reserve any places for anyone (even though I would love to)
because a couple of applicants abused the system. (One of them even
threatened me over e-mail.) To avoid any further complications, I cannot
help but re-introduce the simple "first come, first served" system.

If you would like to attend the conference but have not booked your
place, it is strongly advised that you do so immediately. And please do
not e-mail me any threat! I'm doing my very best to organise this
conference. (I've even given up my summer vacation for it!)

The further information (re: registration, travel, etc.) will be mailed
out to all the delegates on Monday 10 September. The final programme
will be posted on our website shortly.
