Subject: L'Avventura and Shakespeare
In Michelangelo Antonioni's film L' Avventura (1960), there's a brief
reference to Shakespeare about an hour and forty five minutes in. A
young woman (she says she's nineteen) has attracted a racous group of
wolfish men, and she says in response to a question from one of them
that she writes and is "frequently in contact with the dead, mostly
Tolstoy and Shakespeare."
