Subject: Susan Snyder - Memorial Service

Colleagues,

Many of you are aware of the death of Susan Snyder from cancer on
September 14th. Susan started coming to the Folger as a graduate
student in the 1960s and, after her retirement, she moved to Washington
in 1993 so that she could continue to pursue her research here as a
Folger Scholar in Residence. In addition, she shared her expertise with
the high school teachers' program, and with the editors of Shakespeare
Quarterly and the new Folger Shakespeare Edition. We feel that she was
very much a part of the Folger family, and we invite you to join us in
remembering Susan at a Memorial Service to be held at the Folger on
Saturday, October 20, 2001 at 4PM in the Old Reading Room.

We anticipate establishing a permanent endowment fund in Susan's name,
and contributions are welcomed. Please direct your gifts to: Director
of Development, Folger Shakespeare Library, 201 East Capitol Street,
S.E., Washington, D.C. 20003-1094.
