I personally wouldn't be too keen to claim priority for the
Shakeshafte/Shakespeare identification. As I pointed out a year ago,
the surname Shakeshafte, though cognate, is distinct from Shakespeare
and has, moreover, been recorded in Lancashire. But then, other people
probably pointed this out long before me...
