Subject:        Editing Software

Dear SHAKSPEReans,

Is there a recommended software package for editing renaissance play
texts?  Is there something better than MS Word for keep track of line
numbers, spacing, and multiple levels of commentary and collation
notes?  Perhaps others have created macros to accomplish these (or
other) tasks?
