Subject:        No Bells for James

Overheard on PBS' Crown and Country while channel surfing: "paid not to
ring the bell for James the First, because he was not so popular."

Can anyone tell me where it was (somewhere near Cardinal Woolsey's
palace?) and in which part of James I's reign he was so unpopular?
