An interesting question. Feste is wise, isn't he-but in a very satirical
kind of way. I'm not sure Prospero is seen as really wise...But how did
Shakespeare see wisdom, really? It's difficult to know exactly of
course, but my instinctive feeling is that he distrusted the consciously
serene kind of wisdom, as much as the jackass pompous sort like
Polonius'. I don't get the feeling he would have been a purchaser of
Dalai Lama books, say, or Paulo Coelho.
