Forget "as American as apple pie"---the most Patriotic food is...the
Shakes, speared (III & V)
Look in thy glass, and tell the wounds thou viewest,
Now is the time that face should form another;
Whose fresh shiners if now thou not renewest,
Thou dost beguile the world, unless thou druther
Forbear another pretzel to consume,
Disdain the pilferage of the cupboard?
Oh, who art thou so fond of salty doom?
From thy self-abuse we all have suffered.
Thou tossest back thy glass of evil Dewars
Recall thy duty shirked of yester-year
So thou through empty bottles of thy Coors
Shalt see in double that we live to jeer.
A liquid prisoner pent in walls of glass
Excels at nature's call to play the ass.
