Subject: to dye ere it hath seen jerusalem

David Lindley quotes this from *A Choice of Valentines*. It does not
make a good example of a single ref to orgasm in the word *die* because
this line alludes to the desire of medieval Christians to go on
pilgrimage to Jerusalem before they die. (Close analogue to the modern
insistence that a good Muslim must make a pilgrimage to Mecca before the
end of his life). To suggest that premature male ejaculation is
comparable to failing to get to Jerusalem before one dies is not nearly
so obscene as it is blasphemous. It may be thought that the scandal
occasioned by the publication of Nashe's work was in part such
blasphemies as this, not merely the accompanying pornography.

Yours for puns,
John
