Perhaps it should be noted that the leading candidate for authorship of
The Second Maiden's Tragedy is currently Thomas Middleton. It is
supposed to be included in the collected works of Middleton under the
title The Lady's Tragedy. As with many anonymous play, Middleton's
authorship is not universally accepted, but I find similarities in
Second Maiden's Tragedy to several Middleton plays. Webster, in my
opinion, would be the second most credible author for this play. It's
not like anything of Shakespeare
