Much thanks to David Kathman for sending us the "plot" of a scene from
"The Faithful Friends"; note the large number of explicit stage
directions-"An Altar to be sett forth with the Image of Mars," "Launce
and sheild wch are hung vp for trophees," "snout who hangs vp his Sword
and takes his hammer," "a clapp of Thunder and all run of"-sounds like
it might be addressed to the early modern equivalent of the prop person
or stage manager, as well as to members of an authorship team.
