Subject: Question from a Non-Member
Dear SHAKSPEReans (four syllables):
As you all know, I do not make it a practice to post query from
non-members of the list, but the following seemed innocent enough to me
to bring to your attention.
Again, anyone who cares to respond please do so directly to Mr. Keillor

Subject: Creating a one-act text of The Tempest
I work in an elementary school's literacy program and in honor of
Shakespeare's birthday I'm trying to put together a one-act version of
The Tempest to perform for some of the students. Currently the cast is
at four and I hope to find some more volunteers. However I doubt that I
can get more than seven, is there any precedent for doubling characters
when performing the play? Also, has anyone done something similar or
have any helpful hint on shortening the play?
Cheers,
Jeremy Keillor
