Subject: 13.0966 Beating Systems
Comment: Re: SHK 13.0966 Beating Systems
Martin Steward suggests,
>I agree with everything Don Bloom wrote in response to my light-hearted
>attack against "systems" except his concept of "rewards you haven't
>earned". Is it possible to get rewards you haven't earned? Isn't the
>suggestion blasphemous, in some sense?
Not really. According to Luther, it would be blasphemous to claim that
you _have_ earned rewards in the afterlife.
On a more corporeal level, few of us believe that what Bill Gates did
for his billions is actually _worth_ infinitely more than what Mother
Theresa, who took a vow of perpetual poverty and so made nothing, did.
Cheers,
