Subject: Touchstone
I would like to alert SHAKSPER members to a new Shakespeare-related
online service, Touchstone, a collaborative venture between the
Shakespeare Institute, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, and Birmingham
Library Services.
With Touchstone you can:
* Locate unique and rare Shakespeare resources in the UK
* Identify forthcoming UK Shakespeare productions and search a
database for information on previous productions
* Discover information on forthcoming conferences, lectures, and
events
* Track down any Shakespeare theatre groups, societies, and
associations
* Submit questions to the Shakespeare Enquiry Service
Touchstone is intended to appeal to enthusiasts, academics,
theatre-goers and theatre workers, teachers, undergraduate and graduate
students.
Comments and suggestions from SHAKSPER members are welcomed,
particularly notices concerning forthcoming Shakespeare-related events
(productions, courses, lectures, conferences...) in the United Kingdom.
Touchstone is now available for free at http://www.touchstone.bham.ac.uk
Touchstone is funded by the British Library Co-operation and Partnership
Programme.
