Subject:        Thursday Hiatus

Dear SHAKSPEReans,

I spent the day at one of my favorite places in the world, the Folger
Shakespeare Library, to begin preparing for my August International
Shakespeare Meeting seminar at Stratford. I was warmly greeted by the
staff who have not seen much of me since I became chair of my Department
six years ago, and my best wishes go out to them all
