Subject: An Invitation to Contribute
You are invited to contribute to the COMPENDIUM OF RENAISSANCE DRAMA.
This CD-ROM database is edited by Brian Jay Corrigan and a board that
includes Andrew Gurr, A.R. Braunmuller, J.L. Styan, and Robert F.
Willson. It contains thousands of files: videos, finding lists, images,
biographies, dictionaries, maps, and synopses of every extant play from
the English Renaissance. It has been in preparation for ten years and is
soon to be completed, but it needs your help.
The final phase requires a team of scholars willing to provide synopses
of plays and brief character notes. The work itself is fairly simple:
merely read an assigned play and complete an electronic synopsis form
(which will be supplied to you). It is a fill-in-the-blanks format.
This is your invitation to participate in this internationally important
The CORD will be the subject of a SAA workshop at Victoria in April
2003, and we are working to have as much of it completed as possible.
The CORD will be a central repository of information, a convenient place
to begin and conduct research. It also offers attractive, full-colour
(and many animated) presentations for use in the classroom.
