Subject: Macbeth Discussion -- Directorial Interpretations
Fellow Shakespeareans:
To those who might be interested in a new thread, I have recently been
asked to direct a production of "Macbeth" for a local theatre in North
Georgia. This show is going to be performed primarily for 11th graders
in the city and county high schools. We will also add a few evening
performances for general audiences.
I am interested in stories, stagings, interpretations, etc. . . that
would help to give me buffer with which to keep my production in check.
I normally give myself 6-10 months to do research, but this time around
I have only 20 days to finalize pre-production work before open
auditions.
So, I turn to my auspicious colleagues, many of whom are far more
learned than I, to give me as much insight as possible. For that, I
would be eternally grateful.
Thanks!
