Subject: Lucy Morgan Was QEI's Other Prof

In the Winter 2000 issue of the electronic journal SIGNATURES,
http://www.ucc.ac.uk/signatures/Signatures_Vol2.pdf, Duncan Salkeld, in
his article, "Black Luce and the 'curtizans' of Shakespeare's London,"
demonstrates where Leslie Hotson's errs in his linking Lucy Negro and
Lucy Morgan. Dr. Salkeld writes, "It is not my intention to present in
this article a 'revealed at last' solution to the Dark Lady puzzle,
.... Quite the reverse, I shall be confined to showing that, whoever
the Dark Mistress was, she was not Black Luce, and that whoever Black
Luce was, she was not Luce Morgan." For its brevity (10 printed pages),
Dr. Salkeld's article, for those of us who are interested, effectively
erases Lucy Morgan's name from the list of possible candidates for
Shakespeare's Dark Lady.
