Most interestingly the Freemans have indicated in a mere aside that they
share Samuel Tannenbaum's doubts on the authenticity of the Revels
Accounts. It is to be hoped that their detailed argument will be
published in the not too distant future.
Tannenbaum produced some good historical arguments against the
reliability of soapparentlye entries but fell down on his handwriting
evidence which his critics claimed, apparently correctly were based on
misleading facsimiles.
