Actually, she didn't say that; at a White House dinner in December 2000
(after Bush had been elected but while Clinton was still in office) she
said, "I don't think you'll see me around here for at least four more
years."  But "here" in her comment meant the White House, not the U.S.

that various celebrities (most notably Alec Baldwin) said that they
