I'm trying to track some out of the way Shakespeare editions and I'm
wondering whether list members may be able to offer some help. If you
can answer any of the questions that follow, please reply to me off
1. A series of Shakespeare texts was published under the title the
'Falcon Shakespeare', issued by Rivingtons and Longmans, Green & Co.,
starting in 1886. The Folger has 7 volumes in the series -- JC, MV, 1H4,
R3, H5, Tmp, Shr. The British Library set is missing. Would anyone
happen to know whether any other volumes were issued?
2. J. H. Lobban (and others?) edited a series of texts under the title
the 'Granta Shakespeare', probably beginning in 1910. The _Variorum
Handbook_ suggests that at least 12 vols were issued, but the Folger
only has 3. Again, the British Library set is missing. Would anyone be
able to provide me with a complete list of the volumes in this series?
3. Between 1914 and 1933, Charles H. Herford edited Heath's Arden
Shakespeare. This edition is untraceable at both the British Library and
the Library of Congress. The Folger has 24 volumes. Was this issue a
complete set of texts, or was it a partial series? If the latter, would
anyone know exactly what texts were issued?
