Special Session on Pedagogy:

Deadline for abstracts extended to October 1:

"Shakespeare and the Classroom" will sponsor a special session:
"Teaching Shakespeare and Colonial, Imperial and Post-Colonial Themes."

Papers should consider the value of New Historical and Post-Colonial
approaches in the Shakespeare Classroom, as well as pedagogical methods
for delivery of such approaches.

(Selected papers will be published in an up-coming edition of
"Shakespeare and the Classroom.")

SAC will also sponsor a workshop:   "Incorporating Imperial, Colonial,
and Post-Colonial Themes into Courses on Shakespeare and Early Modern
Literature."  The purpose of the workshop is to help participants create
new courses and/or revise existing courses to include the conference
themes.  The workshop will focus on content revision, pedgogical
methods, and assessment.  Open to all conference participants.
Attendees should bring the syllabus of a course they wish to revise or
an outline for a new course they are preparing.  For questions contact
