Subject: Don Foster, Frank Kermode, Reduced Shakespeare on Radio

Wisconsin Public Radio's To the Best of Our Knowledge show has a new
program "Pleasure of Words" featuring a lot of Shakespeare. In passing,
an interview with Don Foster mentions the "Funeral Elegy" but mostly
talks about how he revealed the true authorship of _Primary Colors_ (Joe
Klein) and "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" (Major Henry Livingstone,
1748-1828). Frank Kermode talks about Shakespeare's language, the
subject of his recent book. And three members of the other RSC, the
Reduced Shakespeare Company, do two-minute versions of Hamlet (forwards
and backwards), Othello (in rap) and the English history plays (as
football commentary). In passing they reduce 16 comedies to one long
title.

The program is 01-04-27-B, can be found at
http://www.wpr.org/book/010527b.htm. What's best, if you don't get NPR,
you can listen to the streaming audio at the website. (On my Real
Player, I was able to fast forward to about 37 to the compressed bard.
