SYNOPSIS:
The sponsor awards fellowships of up to $15,000 to actors to underwrite
periods of advanced training aimed at enhancing their craft and their
ability to meet the demands of major roles. The sponsor expects to
award no more than fifteen fellowships. Applicants must be nominated by
their drama school or by a panel designated by the sponsor.

OBJECTIVES:
In the awarding of fellowships, the Foundation aims to support actors
with the following characteristics: the actor has exceptional talent;
the actor has demonstrated a commitment to his or her artistic
development and to the theatre as his or her preferred creative venue;
the actor has enjoyed a reasonable amount of success in the theatre
(commensurate with her/his level of experience) and holds great
potential for further contributions to the art form.
FUNDING
Up to fifteen fellowships of up to $15,000 are awarded. In addition,
incentive awards of up to $15,000 will be made available to selected
fellows to encourage participation in non-commercial theatre
productions. Finally, all fellows are eligible to participate in the
Workshop Company of the Actors Center. (cmb)
