I have viewed the BBC's version of Othello. Can anyone tell me why the
actor who played Brabantio, played him so abominably? He seemed totally
out of tune with the rest of the performance, with almost a singsong
presentation, particularly when addressing Roderigo. He apparently
tutored the Duke as well, who placed second worst with some of his
responses. Was this some arcane technique, or just poor acting?

On the other hand Bob Hoskins, who I admit to knowing from "Who Framed
Roger Rabbit," was an excellent Iago.

Sincerely,
Jay Feldman
