I have not read Giroux' book (Robert Giroux, The Book Known As Q: A
Consideration of Shakespeare's Sonnets, Scribner, 1982 - Out of Print
except for the UK), but it would seem that I am in good company. There
is no reference to it in the editions of the Sonnets by John Kerrigan
(New Penguin, 1986), Katherine Duncan-Jones (Arden3, 1997) or Colin
Burrow (Oxford, 2002). In the circumstances, I see no necessity for
anything in the book to "square" with anything I might say.
