The context, I'm afraid, is simply that Jerry Downs is an
anti-Stratfordian (but of unclear allegiance) obsessed with destroying
Don Foster's reputation.  On news:humanities.lit.authors.shakespeare he
has made several allegations that are plainly libelous, and his recent
posting here is simply a rehash of material he has already posted there.
