Subject: Single Volume Editions
Lest I seem like an ingrate--for reasons unknown to me, I missed two
days of SHAKSPER postings, including the initial responses onlist to my
inquiry about single-edition volumes. Anyway, I am grateful for the
replies, including the off-list reply from Judi Crane.
It seems that Norton is becoming the general favorite. Maybe I will go
with that, but I have reservations about the Nortonizing of all major
literature. Are these reservations shared by others?

Although not the complete works, the following is worth a look The
Necessary Shakespeare. David Bevington. New York: Longman, 2002. ISBN
0-321-08897-2.
