On my PC I received all of yesterday's Shaksper posts in basic ASCII,
and all the French accents in my Gallica how-to were lost. The
instructions as deposited in the list archives, however, are intact and
may be consulted there.

Cheers,
Al Magary

[Editor's Note: For concerns that are only of interest to me, I use an
old version of Netscape's mailer to send formatted digests to listserv
for distribution to the members. For some mysterious reason that I have
not been able to figure out, the default character set in this mailer
occasionally changes itself from Western (Latin 1) to Chinese
Simplified. These sinister forces were active again, and all of
yesterday's digests were mailed with the text in the Chinese Simplified
encoding. For this reason, some mailers were not able to read the French
accents in Al Magary's "How to" posting. Al is correct that the version
residing on the web site
<http://www.shaksper.net/archives/2003/2267.html> does retain all of the
accents. Sorry. -Hardy]

Speaking as someone with almost no French language skills to my credit,
I can nevertheless attest that I found the The Biblioth??que Nationale
de France (BNF) website a very useful resource, in relation to the
research I mentioned in the "Archbishop in Henry V" thread earlier this
year.
