After checking some Shakespeare references, I wonder if the writers in
question are Richard Carew and William Camden. Letters from both were
published in Camden's "Remaines" and apparently both admit that
Shakespeare is a superior writer. (Amateur that I am, I haven't read
"Remaines" so I'm taking a risk and would much appreciate it if the more
knowledgeable will untangle this thread.)
