In my Shakespeare Glossary by C.T. Onions I find the word:
 broad--is "not very common in Shakespeare"

Might I add broadband to that. I understand from recent blogs I've been
reading about the U.S it (broadband) is difficult to receive in some
areas.

In Japan broadband is "broad-spreading" (R2 III.iv.50) and easily
accessible if you have the 'yen' for it.  I've had no problems since I
went broad.
