Subject: Shakespeare on Film

A message aimed at the high school teachers of English and/or Media
Studies on the list.

I write film teaching units for sale to schools and teachers.

My list includes several films of Shakespeare plays - Zeffirelli's Romeo
and Juliet; Ian McKellen's Richard 3 and Branagh's Much Ado as well as
Shakespeare in Love and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Although written for the English curriculum in NZ schools, they are
flexible enough to be adapted to any school programme.

Details can be seen on www.artemis-film-guides.com or via direct
communication with me at

I have also written and successfully directed a high school musical
comedy based on Romeo and Juliet called Romeo and Julia. It is only
partly original - apart from chunks of the original play, every apt or
inapt quotation from Shakespeare that could be included has been,
regardless of the play it comes from.

e.g. "The Capulets must live around here somewhere. Is their house 2B
or not 2B?"

Characters include Rosaline Macbeth, Tim Bolt, Mark Uti, Ben Volio and
Kate Padua.

The music is not original but is rock music from the 50s and 60s.

Contact me if you would be interested in acquiring performing rights.
