Subject: Blackfriars Conference
I thoroughly enjoyed the Blackfriars Conference last week. It
represented the best of the intersection between the scholarly and the
theatrical.
My congratulations to Susan Hawthorne (Conference Organizer); Ralph Alan
Cohen; Jim Warren; the actors, directors, and associates of the
Shenandoah Shakespeare; the Masters students in Shakespeare and
Renaissance Literature in Performance from Mary Baldwin College; the
guest speakers (Stanley Wells, Andrew Gurr, Tina Packer, Tiffany Stern,
and Meredith Skura); the presenters; and participants.
I earnestly hope there will be a third Blackfriars Conference in 2005.
