Subject: Civility
Dear SHAKSPEReans,
May I once more request that members of this conference attempt to
respond more civilly to each other.
For whatever reasons - bravado, exhibitionism, misguided attempts at
cleverness, or just plain malice - lately there has just been too much
venom spilled.
I have a problem when long-time contributors no longer feel like
participating in these exchanges and when members write me privately to
say them would respond but fear being inundated by off-list messages.
Frankly, some of the cattiness expressed here is rather silly and a
consequence misunderstanding.
Let me also point out that one response to bullying is to ignore it.
I have no intentions of taking the edge out of discussions; I only
request we stay focused on issues rather than personalities.
Hardy
