Subject: Lucrece
Colin Cox (14.1744) suspects that I may have an acrostic solution to the
riddle posed by Bob Grumman (14.1737) about critical judgement on
Lucrece. I fear I only have a riddle. Two good primers with something
to say -albeit limited- are Colin Burrow's Oxford Shakespeare (2002) and
F.T. Prince's Arden (1969). Given the comprehensive Katherine
Duncan-Jones' Arden 3 Sonnets (1997) the riddle is when will they get
round to the poems? Perhaps they have but I haven't seen it anywhere.
Has anyone else?
Best,
Graham Hall
