Comment: Re: SHK 14.1529 Weimann's "locus" and "platea"
Michael Mooney's _Shakespeare's Dramatic Transactions_ (Duke UP, 1990)
deals with "locus" and "platea," as does his earlier article "'Edgar I
Nothing Am': _Figurenposition_ in _King Lear_" in _Shakespeare Survey_
38 (1985): 153-66.
I also have an article, titled "Performance Practice and Theatrical
Privilege: Rethinking Weimann's Concepts of _Locus_ and _Platea_," which
is currently under review.
I hope this helps! If you receive other citations off-list, I'd love it
if you could post a summary of them here. I, and I'm sure many other
list members, would be most grateful. And as you explore, please do
keep me updated on your thoughts and interests--I would love to
correspond with you about them.
All the best,
