Subject: Bibliographical Query -- William White
Dear SHAKSPERians (with apologies for cross-posting),
As part of a dissertation chapter on Shakespeare's _Richard II_, I'm
looking at the 1608 (fourth) quarto printed by William White. I have
consulted most 20th-century editions of the play (P. A. Daniel, Pollard,
Wilson, Ure, Black's _Variorum_, Gurr, Oxford, and most recently
Forker), and think I have a pretty good grasp of the literature on
Valentine Simmes, the printer of Q1-3. There doesn't seem to be a lot of
published research on William White, though (beyond Paul Werstine's
dissertation and his 1979 article on _Love's Labor's Lost_). I'd be
extremely grateful for any suggestions.
Many thanks,
Holger Schott
