I apologize if I caused offence -- in fact, I cross-posted the query
widely, including two lists Al doesn't mention (exlibris and SHARP-L).
If SHAKSPERians are interested in the responses I got, I'd be happy to
summarize them in more detail. In brief, there appears to be no evidence
whatsoever that Richard's deposition was censored in the 1587 Holinshed.
