I think Tanya Gough originally asked about securing tickets for the NYC
Shakespeare in the Park, and Ted Nellen aptly said "It ain't easy." Last
year my wife and I, anxious to see Twelfth Night, went in the morning
directly to the box office in the park, whereupon our hearts sank into
our shoes at the spectacle of hundreds of supplicants sitting on the
ground with picnic hampers patiently waiting. There was light at the end
of the tunnel, or pathway, however. It turned out that "Seniors" are
allowed to sit on a special bench near the box office and are given
first choice of tickets.
There are very few advantages to growing old but this surely must be one
of
them. Ken Rothwell
