Subject: Michael Wood's In Search of Shakespeare

OK... So Michael Wood thinks Shakespeare might have been a bit of a
Papist!

Very skewed accounts of Tudor administrative structures and especially
religious culture formed the background to an hour's worth of commentary
that seemed almost exclusively concerned with buttressing the shaky case
for WS's Roman Catholicism (as opposed to his "Catholicism", as it was
consistently referred to by Wood).

I dread to think what the episode dealing with the Essex Rebellion is
going to be like.
