The complaint that *RJ* is excessively heterosexual overlooks that
largish group of late modern productions that have given us a Mercutio
so sexually interested in Romeo that he picks a fight on the playground
with Tybalt just so he can show off to the object of his fantasies. No
such alternative for Juliet, of course. On the ballet side (better,
perhaps, front), there are, of course, those tight tights--but I guess
the appeal there is AC-CD.
