Subject: 15.0368 Henry V Question
Comment: Re: SHK 15.0368 Henry V Question

I may have missed a message on this subject but where I live, just
outside Monmouth, many people know that there is some contention
regarding the history of the town. There is some evidence that Monmouth
was in England before the reign of Henry VIII. For many years a Monmouth
resident used to initiate an annual argument in local papers on this
subject. As Henry V was born here in August 1387 maybe he did think of
himself as an Englishman.

There is a bust of Henry V with his dates high on the wall of the Shire
Hall and the main square is named after Agincourt.

Was John of Gaunt Flemish?

Is Lennox Lewis English?
