Dear SHAKSPEReans,

I am sad to write with the news of the death of Shakespeare scholar
Robert Ornstein Monday in Cleveland, Ohio.  The author of many books and
articles, including *The Moral Vision of Jacobean Tragedy*, *A Kingdom
for a Stage: The Achievement of Shakespeare's History Plays*, and
*Shakespeare's Comedies: From Roman Farce to Romantic Mystery*, he also
served as President of the Shakespeare Association of America.  He was a
deeply inspiring and beloved scholar, teacher, and friend.  His
profoundly humane spirit will be greatly missed.
